Nigerian Police axe inspector in Abia for misconduct

The Abia State Police says it has dismissed and de-kitted Inspector Kufere Moses over allegations of unethical conduct.

On Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka, made this known on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa.

According to the statement, Inspector Kufere Moses, who was formerly serving at Mopol 55 PMF Aba and attached to UBA Bank Guard in Aba, has been officially dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force, effective February 21, 2025. His police accoutrements have also been withdrawn.

The police command stressed its commitment to maintaining discipline within the force, assuring the public of its resolve to uphold professional standards.

The statement read, “This action follows administrative disciplinary measures taken against him by the command for ‘discreditable conduct and offences against discipline.’”

He emphasized the command’s zero tolerance for unprofessional conduct and assured the public that the command would not condone the activities of bad elements within the force.

“Under my leadership, the command remains committed to the Inspector General of Police’s vision of ensuring a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law-compliant and people-friendly police force,” Isa added.
