Nigerians have been reacting to the list of 43 ministerial nominees by President Muhammadu Buhari earlier today.

Since the list was made public, Nigerians have been sharing their views on the names on the list on social media platforms.

Izu Michael a social commentator on Twitter is disappointed with the list. According to him, there is nothing special. He tweeted: “Nigerians have been looking forward to the list but it is so terrible that the ministerial list still looked dead on arrival just like the other one in his first tenure. This list is mainly made up of dead woods coated with rotten gold.”

Nutri Lawluq said “Aregbesola’s public display of knowledge of Arabic supplication especially the one at Buhari campaign at Ilorin isn’t going in vain Ajimobi should have concentrate more on Next level rather than his senatorial bid.

Mark Amaza wrote: “Too bad Professor Isaac Adewale didn’t make the list again. I would have loved to hear more of his ideas for turning medical graduates into tailors rather than consultants. But on the bright side, Ngige is there to remind us we have no shortage of doctors.”

A young man simply with the name Olabode said the list looks more like a compensation for a job well done during the campaigns and elections rather than on competence. He wrote on twitter that: “Ministerial list looked more like compensations and invite to come and enjoy the cookie jar more. Are we saying out of 200 million people, we still have to recycle ex-governors? No other technocrats in this country? Good thing is I expected nothing from the start.”

Another Twitter user with the handle, @Mr_Undercover99 was not happy with some of the names “Adamu Adamu and Chris Ingige shouldn’t have come back Thank God we got rid of Solomon Dalung. Sharon Ikeazor, Pantami, Sunday Dare are good prospects, well deserved. Akapbio’s inclusion was consolation for his senate seat lost.”

In a similar vein, Wale Adetona hailed the appointment of Sharon Ikeazor. “One person I am particularly happy for is Sharon Ikeazor. She knows her onions and works diligently in her current capacity” he said.

For Folarin Opeyemi, the list does not give hope to Nigerians who expected change. He wrote: “The Ministerial list doesn’t inspire or give a sense of a fresh beginning. Again, loyalty has triumphed over capacity, character and competency.”
