Mourinho Returns to Real Madrid on Three-Year Deal

By Jessica Afuye
In one of the biggest managerial moves in world football, José Mourinho has officially returned to Real Madrid on a three-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2029. The appointment marks Mourinho’s second spell in charge of the Spanish giants, 13 years after his departure in 2013.
The Portuguese manager was brought back by club president Florentino Pérez following a disappointing season that saw Real Madrid fall short in both domestic and European competitions. The club hopes Mourinho’s experience, discipline, and winning mentality can restore stability and return Los Blancos to the top of world football.
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey, and one Spanish Super Cup. His 2011-12 league-winning side famously amassed a record 100 points and scored 121 goals.
