[VIDEO] Drama as Woman Confronts Umahi, Alleges Contract Debt, Sexual Harassment

Tension flared during an interview session involving the Minister of Works, David Umahi, when a woman interrupted proceedings and accused him of owing her money and subjecting her to sexual harassment.

The confrontation, captured in a now-viral video, was brought to public attention by public affairs commentator Ugo Egbujo, who shared details of the incident in a Facebook post.

According to Egbujo, the woman claimed she executed a contract for which she had not been paid. She allegedly accused the minister of withholding payment after she refused his purported sexual advances.

Egbujo stated that the woman had recently begun speaking out about both the alleged unpaid debt and the alleged harassment. He further claimed that the minister responded by petitioning the police.

In his account, the police subsequently arrested the woman and transported her to Abuja, where she was detained. He added that during what was described as an interview session, Umahi was brought into the venue, an action that reportedly triggered the woman’s emotional outburst.

“The enraged woman couldn’t stand the presence of Minister Umahi,” Egbujo wrote.

Towards the end of the video, Omoyele Sowore, activist and politician approached the Minister and told him that he should not be using the police to settle personal scores.

Footage circulating online shows a visibly distressed woman raising her voice while security personnel attempt to maintain order. The exact context of the interview session and the sequence of events leading up to the disruption remain unclear.

As of press time, there has been no official response from the Minister of Works addressing the specific allegations. The police have also not issued a detailed public statement regarding the circumstances of the woman’s arrest or detention.

Egbujo described the allegations as serious and called for transparency, saying “the country needs to know the truth.”
