Excitement as Priscilla Otti donates 35 houses to widows in Abia

Wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has donated 35 newly constructed three-bedroom bungalows to indigent widows across the 17 local government areas of the state under her “Dignity Homes” initiative.
The houses were officially handed over during a ceremony held in Ahiaeke, Umuahia North Local Government Area, as part of efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of vulnerable women in the state.
Speaking on the initiative, Mrs. Otti said the project was designed to restore hope, comfort and dignity to widows facing difficult socio-economic realities.

The Administrator of the Abia State Eye Health Management Bureau, Dr. Betty Emeka-Obasi, who shared highlights of the event in a video posted on Wednesday, described the initiative as a life-changing intervention for the beneficiaries.
“Yesterday in Ahiaeke, we witnessed more than the commissioning of a house; we witnessed the restoration of dignity, hope and comfort for a widow whose story reflects the impact of compassionate leadership,” she stated.
According to her, one of the beneficiaries moved from living in a dilapidated shelter to occupying a fully furnished home provided through the initiative.
“What was once a dilapidated shelter is now a fully furnished home built through the kindness and vision of Her Excellency, Lady Priscilla Chidinma Otti, as part of the 35 houses provided for 35 widows across the LGAs of Abia State,” Emeka-Obasi added.

The “Dignity Homes” initiative is one of the social intervention programmes championed by the governor’s wife to support vulnerable groups across Abia State.
