JUST IN: Court Declares Nnamdi Kanu Guilty on All Terrorism Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu on all seven terrorism charges filed against him by the Federal Government, marking a major turning point in his years-long legal battle.

In a judgment delivered on Thursday, Justice James Omotosho held that the prosecution successfully proved that Kanu issued a series of violent and inflammatory broadcasts urging attacks and killings to advance the separatist cause of Biafra.

The judge described the government’s evidence as “clear, compelling, and unchallenged,” noting that Kanu did not refute any of the recordings or statements tendered in court.

Justice Omotosho said the broadcasts posed serious threats to public order and were aimed at provoking widespread unrest across the South-East.

With Kanu now convicted on all counts, the case is expected to move to the sentencing stage, where penalties for each of the terrorism offences will be determined.
