First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu denies organising National Prayer

The First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has debunked reports that she is organising national prayers to seek divine intervention for the country’s healing and stability.

A statement by the Special adviser for media to the first lady, Mrs Busola Kukoyi, dismissed the circulating reports as unfounded and misleading.

This clarification comes after rumors spread about a joint national prayer initiative, allegedly led by Mrs. Tinubu alongside National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, titled ‘Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs’.

Mrs. Tinubu emphasized her strong belief in the power of prayer but stressed that it must be done willingly, conscientiously, and correctly.

She also underscored that praying for Nigeria is a collective responsibility, transcending religious affiliations, political views, ethnicity, or language, the statement said.

“To avoid misinformation, the public is advised to verify the authenticity of any news or events involving the First Lady or her office through official channels.”
