Julius Berger impresses Fubara on Port Harcourt Ring Road project

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc on the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring Road and Creek Bridge projects.
The governor spoke during an unscheduled inspection visit to sections of the project, where he interacted with residents and community members who turned out to receive him at various points along the route.
Addressing journalists after the tour, Fubara commended the construction firm for its performance, noting that the visible progress on the project reflects the contractor’s reputation for quality delivery.
“I am satisfied with what Julius Berger is doing on this project. You can see and feel the speed and the positive changes taking place. I thank Julius Berger for this and other works they are doing across the state. The people truly appreciate the quality of their work,” he said.
Fubara disclosed that work on the five flyovers along the Ring Road corridor is nearing completion, while construction has commenced on the Creek Bridge, which he described as critical to enhancing connectivity and facilitating the movement of people and goods across riverine communities.
He noted that the bridge would soon eliminate the risks residents currently face while crossing the river in canoes and boats and urged communities to continue cooperating with the contractors to ensure timely delivery.
The governor reaffirmed that the 50.15-kilometre Port Harcourt Ring Road project remains on schedule for completion by October 2026, adding that sustained funding is being provided to meet the timeline.
The project, which cuts across five local government areas and commenced in 2023, is designed to ease traffic congestion, improve urban mobility and strengthen infrastructure within Port Harcourt and its surrounding communities.
Fubara described the Ring Road as a priority infrastructure initiative of his administration aimed at driving development and improving the quality of life for residents.
