TESCOM commends Ogun teachers for embracing digital innovation to boost productivity

The Chairman of the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu, has reiterated the commission’s commitment to the effective implementation of the state government’s education policies.

He made this known in Abeokuta while addressing a group of secondary school teachers from Abeokuta South Local Government Area in the Ẹ̀gbá Division, who appeared before the Redistribution and Review Panel set up to address concerns arising from the recent teachers’ redistribution exercise.

Apostle Sanyaolu, who was represented by the Full-Time Commissioner in TESCOM and Chairman of the Panel, Hon. Adeola Akintande, explained that the panel was established to identify and address the plight of teachers with medical challenges or other genuine issues, with a view to ensuring fair postings and balanced placement of subject teachers across secondary schools in the state.

He said, “TESCOM is committed to achieving standard education through fair posting that reflects appropriate teacher–student ratios and balanced deployment of required subject teachers in our secondary schools.”

The TESCOM Chairman urged teachers to view the redistribution exercise as a measure aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes for the benefit of both the state and students.

“This panel is not meant to intimidate or scare our teachers, but to listen to those with medical or genuine issues for proper consideration,” he added.

He further disclosed that the panel’s recommendations would be forwarded to the appropriate authority for final approval, advising affected teachers to report to their new schools pending the outcome of the review.

Also speaking, a member of the panel and Principal-General of Yewa Division, Mr. Taoheed Bankole, said due process was followed in addressing the concerns brought before the panel, assuring appellants of fair treatment and justice.

In separate responses, two of the appellants, Mr. Kazeem Moyinola and Mrs. Olubunmi Adekoya, expressed appreciation to TESCOM for giving them the opportunity to present their grievances, pledging to remain diligent in their respective duty posts.
