UK Court indeed arrested Kashamu-British High Commission

The British High Commission in Nigeria has confirmed that Senator Buruji Kashamu was tried in the United Kingdom criminal court.

This was contained in a statement by the Nigerian Police following enquiry concerning the status of Kashmau’s legal battles in United Kingdom and United States.

However the British High Commission explained that the UK criminal court was not satisfied that Kashamu had a case to answer.

According to a statement by the police Public Relations Officer, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, in Abuja, the commission’s clarification did not derogate from extradition request by United States’ relevant departments, and agencies of government in Nigeria.

The police further said the statement was issued purely in connection to the extradition battles of Kashamu with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
