[PHOTOS] Obi meets UK, Germany, Canada, France envoys in Abuja

Former Anambra State governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Wednesday held a meeting with envoys and representatives of key diplomatic missions in Abuja.

The meeting, which took place in the nation’s capital, brought together officials from the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and France, reflecting growing diplomatic engagement with the former presidential candidate.

Writing on X, Obi said the meeting was an enriching experience.

“Today in Abuja, I had a breakfast meeting with some diplomats that included, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and his Colleagues from European Union, Germany, Canada, and France. It was an enriching discussion on relationships,” he said.

Details of the engagement were first disclosed in a post on X by Esther Umoh, who served as Obi’s campaign photographer during the 2023 general elections.

According to her, the meeting included the British High Commissioner as well as representatives from the embassies of Germany, Canada and France.

While specifics of the discussions were not made public, the meeting is seen as part of ongoing interactions between political leaders and members of the diplomatic community on issues of governance, democracy and national development.

Obi, a prominent opposition figure, has remained active in national discourse since the 2023 elections, frequently engaging stakeholders on economic reforms, governance and institutional strengthening.
