OBINNA EZUGWU
Nigeria’s federal government says it has reached agreement to allow Emirates Airline fly into the country.
Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika who announced the decision in a tweet on Wednesday, said it was taken after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) wrote to state that it has agreed to issue visas to Nigerians.
Emirates, among other airlines, were banned from entering Nigeria following the decision of their respective host countries to stop issuance of visa to Nigerians.
“UAE has written to state that they agree to issue visas to Nigerians, consequently decision has been reached to allow Emirates to fly into Nigeria,” Sirika wrote.
“Commencement of the Visa issuance is condition precedent. Please bear with this unusual situation. Many thanks.”
