NBB vice chairman Arowolo commends Tinubu, Adelabu over reforms

The National Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Boxing Board (NBB) and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Comrade Babatunde Arowolo, popularly known as Bako, has commended President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, for what he described as far-reaching reforms that are beginning to yield positive results for Nigerians.
Arowolo said the reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration should be seen as progressive initiatives capable of strengthening the country and improving the standard of living of the people, adding that they represent true dividends of democracy.
He made the remarks in Ibadan during a New Year visit to Adelabu at his private residence.
According to him, the Federal Government has taken significant steps to ensure that Nigerians feel the impact of good governance, stressing that President Tinubu’s achievements so far are unprecedented and clearly targeted at national growth and development.
Arowolo said the policies of the present APC-led administration are geared towards the overall wellbeing of Nigerians, the consolidation of investments and the creation of an enabling environment for investors, which he said would translate into job creation, particularly for youths.
He also highlighted the Federal Government’s student loan scheme, describing it as a major intervention that would ease the burden on indigent students and parents who are unable to fund higher education.
“President Tinubu is investing in education and creating wealth through knowledge, which is one of his key priorities,” he said.
Speaking on Adelabu’s performance as Minister of Power, Arowolo said the minister has been doing his best in the assignment entrusted to him, adding that he has justified the confidence reposed in him by the President.
On the political situation in Oyo State, Arowolo said the APC is the party many residents are now yearning for, declaring that the party is fully prepared and battle-ready to reclaim power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He attributed this renewed strength to recent reconciliation efforts within the party, noting that all factions have resolved to work together for victory.
“This was evident at the recent reconciliatory meeting held at the party secretariat in Ibadan, where all groups agreed to unite and support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate,” he said.
Arowolo further disclosed that pressure is mounting on Adelabu to contest the governorship of Oyo State in 2027, revealing that following consultations with APC elders, many party members have adopted him as their preferred candidate.
He argued that the people of Oyo State are tired of the PDP and are calling on Adelabu to rescue the state from what he described as oppressive governance.
According to him, voters in the state have become wiser and are gravitating towards the progressive fold, noting that the state benefitted more during periods when the Progressives were in power.
He urged residents not to allow the PDP to deceive them again, alleging that internal lawlessness within the party has eroded internal democracy and weakened its structure both at the state and national levels.
