Gunmen kill one, abduct travellers on Sagamu-Benin expressway

Gunmen have reportedly attacked some policemen at a junction in Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo state, killing five of them and injuring others, including passersby.

Vanguard quoted a source who spoke to newsmen in Owerri to have explained that the officers were attacked while eating at the junction on Friday.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye, was yet to respond to the enquiry as the time of writing, but sources said the gunmen numbering about ten killed the officers and injured others at the junction.

As of the last count, he said: “Five officers were killed including passersby wounded. You can see dead bodies everywhere because they were spraying bullets. They took the rifles of the police officers and went away with it.”
