JAMB initiates lost SIM feature ahead of UTME/DE registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has come up with a new feature to assist candidates who are unable to recover lost SIM cards linked to their previous registrations.

JAMB disclosed on Thursday via X that the new feature is now available at all its CBT centres.

The exam body advised candidates to fill out the template to access this service for the upcoming UTME/DE registration.

It also stated that SIM SWAP is still not available.

JAMB stated: “Good news for those who cannot retrieve their previously used but lost SIM cards. A feature is now available at all CBT centres to address your case. Kindly fill the template to access this service for the upcoming UTME/DE registration. Note that SIM SWAP is still not available.”

This comes just days before the start of registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) on Friday, 31 January, and ends on Saturday, 8 March.

JAMB also announced that registration for Direct Entry (DE) begins on Monday, 10 March, and ends on Monday, 7 April.

“The cost implication for the 2025 UTME/DE Registration is as stated below: 1. UTME with Mock-₦8,700, 2. UTME without Mock-₦7,200, 3. Mock Trial Testing for Future Candidates-₦3,500, 4. DE-₦5,700,” JAMB tweeted.

“The breakdown is as follows: UTME/DE application fee- ₦3,500, Reading Text-₦1,000, CBT centre registration service charge- ₦700, CBT Centre UTME service charge-₦1,500, CBT Mock service charge-₦1,500, Bank charges-₦500, CBT Mock-UTME centre service charge-₦1,500.”
