Ganduje Dismisses NDC Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has denied reports linking him with the New Democratic Congress (NDC), describing as fake posters circulating on social media claiming he had defected from the ruling party.

Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, insisting that he remained committed to the party and had no intention of abandoning it.

In a statement issued on Friday by his former Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, the ex-APC chairman described the reports as false, malicious and politically motivated.

He said the posters were part of a deliberate campaign aimed at misleading the public, sowing confusion among APC members and fueling unnecessary political speculation.

According to the statement, Ganduje has remained steadfast in his political convictions and has never contemplated leaving the party he once led as national chairman.

Rejecting the claims, Ganduje declared that he was not the type of politician who moved from one political platform to another in pursuit of personal interests.

“It is not only false but also illogical for anyone to insinuate that Ganduje has joined the NDC. Such a claim lacks both political and logical foundation,” the statement said.

He maintained that the APC remains Nigeria’s largest and strongest political party, adding that it continues to enjoy growing support across the country under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

The statement alleged that those behind the posters were political mischief-makers seeking to damage Ganduje’s reputation and create unnecessary tension within the ruling party.

Ganduje further revealed that those responsible for producing and circulating the posters had been identified, warning that legal action would be taken against them if they failed to withdraw the materials and stop further circulation.

He urged APC members, supporters and the general public to disregard the posters, insisting that they did not represent his political position or future plans.

The former APC chairman also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Tinubu and the party’s leadership in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening the APC ahead of future political activities.

He advised the public to rely only on official statements from him and authorised organs of the APC for information concerning his political engagements.
