Anambra police confirms arrest of masquerade involved in violent Awgbu attacks

The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a masquerade linked to recent unprovoked and violent attacks on residents in Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area. The attacks, which were captured in a video circulating widely on social media, reportedly led to a breach of public peace.

In a statement on Wednesday, the police described the masquerade’s actions as “totally unacceptable, unlawful, and will not be tolerated under any guise.” The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue to identify and prosecute all individuals involved.

The police command assured the public, especially Ndi Anambra, that further updates on the investigation will be communicated in due course.
