By Sunday Oguntuyi, Osogbo
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji (AMBO), has launched 5,100 canvassers in the Iwo/Ola-Oluwa/Ayedire Federal Constituency, assuring residents of his commitment to revitalising the state’s economy through strategic investments, job creation and industrial development.
Speaking during the inauguration of the canvassers, aimed at galvanising grassroots support ahead of the election, Oyebamiji pledged to prioritise critical sectors of the economy if elected governor.
According to him, “the finances and economy of the state would be re-engineered, while priority would be given to critical sectors such as agriculture, commerce, security, youth and women empowerment.”
He added that his administration would raise the standard of governance and improve the welfare and general well-being of the people through the formulation and implementation of policies that would transform the fortunes of the federal constituency in particular and Osun State as a whole.
The APC candidate charged the canvassers to take the party’s message directly to the people, stressing that victory at the polls would depend largely on effective engagement with voters at the grassroots.
He said: “It is time for you to embark on door-to-door campaigns. Such an approach will make people believe in our PROSPER Agenda and appreciate how realistic it is once we are elected.”
Earlier, the Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, expressed confidence in the party’s chances at the election.
He said: “Like I said before, we know the strategy we employed in 2022, and we will do everything possible to secure victory for Oyebamiji in the forthcoming governorship election. We are very good at removing a sitting governor.”
Also speaking, the Osun APC State Secretary and Chairman of the Campaign Council for Iwo Federal Constituency, Alhaji Kamorudeen Alao, disclosed that 30 canvassers were selected from each of the 170 polling units in Iwo Federal Constituency, bringing the total number of canvassers to 5,100.
In their separate remarks, the Director-General of the Osun West Senatorial District Campaign Committee, Prince Dotun Babayemi; National Commissioner of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Dr. Festus Oyebade Olowogboyega; APC State Secretary, Hon. Kamorudeen Alao; APC Osun West Senatorial Candidate, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi; and APC House of Representatives candidate, Engr. Abeeb Ademola Adebayo, urged residents of the constituency to vote massively for the APC in the forthcoming election.
