2026: AMBO will prioritise human capital development, says campaign DG

The Director-General of the Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Campaign Organisation, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has assured Osun residents that an All Progressives Congress (APC) administration under Oyebamiji would place greater emphasis on human capital development alongside infrastructure if elected in the August 15 governorship election.

Oke gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing party supporters during the APC governorship campaign rally in the Ede Federal Constituency.

He alleged that the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke had prioritised capital projects at the expense of critical sectors such as education and primary healthcare.

According to him, public schools and primary healthcare centres across the state have suffered neglect since 2022, affecting the quality of services available to ordinary citizens.

“Our schools are in poor condition, our hospitals are in poor condition, and these are the services the common people need most,” Oke said.

He expressed confidence that the APC would record a strong showing in Ede despite being considered the underdog in the area.

“We are being considered the underdog in Ede, but we will surprise them with the votes we will deliver,” he added.

The campaign director-general said the APC was determined to reclaim Osun State, urging voters to reverse what he described as the mistake of the previous governorship election by voting massively for the party’s candidate.

He also claimed that the APC had continued to gain momentum across the state, citing the turnout at recent campaign rallies in Ede and Awo as evidence of growing public support.

Oke further criticised Governor Adeleke’s educational qualifications, alleging that the governor lacks the academic competence required to provide effective leadership.

“Don’t vote for a governor who can’t read or write. Rather, vote for competence and someone with a good educational background,” he said.

Addressing supporters, the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), promised to deliver good governance, improve infrastructure, create employment opportunities and implement policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents if elected.

He urged voters to turn out in large numbers on election day and support the APC, assuring them that his administration would fulfil its campaign promises and promote inclusive development across the state.

Also speaking, APC chieftain, Mr Dotun Babayemi, appealed to voters in Egbedore Local Government Area to ensure the party’s victory at the polls.

Recalling the APC’s defeat in the area during the 2023 election, Babayemi expressed optimism that the party would reverse the outcome with the support of the electorate.

“We lost here in the 2023 election, but with your support this time, we will win in Egbedore. When we assume office, our people will enjoy the dividends of good governance,” he said.
