Yuletide: Oyebamiji distributes food items to 6,000 households, expresses confidence of winning 2026 Osun guber poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has distributed food items to more than 6,000 households in the spirit of the yuletide.

Oyebamiji made the distribution at the annual end-of-the-year prayer session organised by the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ikire branch, where he declared his strong confidence in emerging victorious at the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

Speaking at the event, the former Commissioner for Finance said he had committed his political ambition into the hands of God and remained optimistic about winning the election.

“This is a yearly prayer programme anchored by the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ikire branch. This year is symbolic because the Osun State governorship election will hold on August 8, 2026. We believe in the oneness of Almighty Allah, and by His grace, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will be the next Governor of Osun State,” he said.

Oyebamiji expressed appreciation to residents of Ikire and adjoining communities for the warm reception accorded him, noting that traditional rulers in the area, including the Akire of Ikire and the Alapomu of Apomu, had reaffirmed their support for his candidacy.

“You will be surprised by the volume of votes that will come from Irewole, Isokan and Ayedaade Federal Constituency in 2026. I am very optimistic of winning with a landslide. I hardly see any serious competition. By the grace of God, we shall win,” he added.

The APC governorship candidate further described himself as the candidate to beat as the election draws nearer, insisting that his ambition was divinely ordained.

He also thanked party leaders and members across the state for their loyalty and commitment, describing their support as evidence of a united party ready for victory.

Commenting on allegations that Osun O’Signage had allegedly prevented opposition parties, particularly the APC, from erecting billboards in the state, Oyebamiji said such actions would not affect his chances.

“Whether billboards are allowed or not, the fact remains that I am the candidate to beat. The next governor of Osun State will emerge through the true decision of the people. I remain focused and will not be distracted by attacks or scheming,” he said.

On party reconciliation, Oyebamiji said significant progress had been made, disclosing that a recent stakeholders’ meeting convened by APC leaders, including Chief Adebisi Akande and former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, resolved outstanding issues.

“Everyone agreed that we are united and ready to face the task ahead to deliver victory for our party in 2026,” he assured.

Earlier, the Chief Imam of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ikire branch, Sheikh Monsuru Adekunle, described Oyebamiji’s emergence as the APC candidate as “a round peg in a round hole.”

He said the endorsement reflected Oyebamiji’s competence, loyalty and wide acceptance across the state, expressing confidence that he would emerge victorious by the grace of Allah.

Also speaking, Oyebamiji’s wife, Dr Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, thanked APC leaders, members and residents of the state for their support, describing her husband as a compassionate leader with a deep love for Osun State.

“This annual prayer session also allows us to give back to the people. This year, we distributed food items to over 6,000 residents, and the massive turnout shows that Hon. Oyebamiji is truly the people’s choice,” she said.

The event attracted Islamic clerics and scholars, party leaders, political associates, professionals and residents of Ikire and surrounding communities, as thousands benefited from the food distribution to mark the yuletide season.
