Truecaller launches travel eSIM service in 29 countries

Truecaller has announced the launch of a travel eSIM service, marking the company’s expansion into mobile data services beyond its core caller identification and spam protection business.
The company disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday from Stockholm, saying the new service would initially be available in 29 countries, including Nigeria, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, South Africa and several European markets.
According to the company, the travel eSIM is a fully digital mobile data service designed to help international travellers maintain connectivity without relying on expensive roaming services or physical SIM cards.
The service offers data plans ranging from 1GB valid for seven days to 20GB valid for 30 days.
Truecaller said users can purchase the service through its iPhone application or via its official website, adding that the web-based option also supports compatible Android devices.
The company explained that customers would be able to activate the eSIM within minutes and use the service globally while travelling.
Chief Operating Officer of Truecaller, Fredrik Kjell, said the launch represents the company’s first step into adjacent communication products.
“I am delighted that Truecaller is launching an eSIM travel data product for our users. Truecaller is a trusted communications brand worldwide, and with our scale, we can offer a great product at a competitive price,” he said.
Kjell added that the company plans to expand the service further through its Android application and introduce support for additional markets over time.
Truecaller stated that more than 500 million users globally currently rely on its platform for communication verification and spam blocking services.
