Supreme Court ends Lamido’s son’s legal battle, confirms forfeiture of undeclared $40,000

The Supreme Court has brought an end to the legal challenge by Aminu Sule Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, by affirming the forfeiture of $40,000 to the Federal Government.
In a unanimous decision delivered on Friday, a five-man panel of the apex court, led by Justice Inyang Okoro, dismissed Lamido’s appeal, ruling that it lacked merit.
The judgment, delivered by Justice Adamu Jauro and read by Justice Abubakar Sadiq Umar, described the appeal as “doomed to fail,” noting that both the trial court and the Court of Appeal were right in ordering the forfeiture of the undeclared funds.
By upholding the decisions of the lower courts, the Supreme Court confirmed Aminu Lamido’s conviction and sealed the forfeiture of the $40,000 to the Federal Government, effectively closing the case.
