Osun 2026: We’ll defeat Adeleke by 10pm on election day, Says APC campaign DG

By Sunday Oguntuyi, Osogbo
The Director General of the campaign for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has declared that the party is fully prepared to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Oke made the remarks on Wednesday during the inauguration of an 800-member campaign committee held at the Ileri-Oluwa House in Osogbo, where he expressed confidence in the APC’s chances at the polls.
According to him, the party is determined to reclaim the state, adding that the APC has a strong track record in defeating incumbent governors.
“We are experts in removing a sitting governor,” Oke said. “We will remove Adeleke before 10:00pm on August 15, 2026. Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) will win and be declared the duly elected governor of Osun State.”
He described the campaign council as fully committed to the party’s objective of dislodging the current administration, insisting that Governor Adeleke’s tenure was nearing its end.
“Removing Adeleke is non-negotiable. His days in office are numbered,” he said.
Oke also criticised the performance of the Adeleke-led administration, accusing it of mismanaging state resources and failing in key sectors such as education, health, and agriculture.
“The government has failed the people of Osun State on all fronts,” he said. “There is incompetence in governance, and the resources of the state have been mismanaged.”
He lamented the state of public education, alleging deterioration in school infrastructure and staffing.
“We don’t have functional school buildings anymore, and there are not enough teachers in public schools. Those schools we attended can no longer function. The same applies to health, agriculture, mining and other sectors,” he added.
Oke further criticised the government’s salary payment structure, arguing that it should not be presented as a major achievement.
“Paying salary is not an achievement. Workers deserve to be paid,” he said.
He stated that the APC, if elected, would focus on improving governance and delivering policies aimed at economic recovery, job creation, and poverty reduction.
“Our programmes will address the welfare and general well-being of the people. We are committed to banishing poverty, reducing hunger, creating employment, restoring good governance and bringing back the lost glory of Osun State,” he said.
The campaign director urged party members to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the election, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious at the polls.
