Ogun PDP backs Tinubu’s second term bid

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun State chapter has pledged unalloyed support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking at the inauguration of the campaign council and official campaign flag-off for the House of Representatives, Remo Federal Constituency bye-election of Hon. Bolarinwa Oluwole, the party’s state chairman in Ogun State, announced that the party has thrown its weight behind the candidature of President Tinubu for the 2027 general election for the betterment of the Southwest and Nigeria at large.
He noted that the president is not a biased person, and he will never support the unscrupulous act of rigging and snatching of ballot boxes.
Tella called on members to come out en masse to vote for the PDP candidate and defend their votes.
Former governorship candidate and leader of the party in the state, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, stated that the All Progressives Congress-led government in the state has lost goodwill due to its conduct, citing disenfranchisement despite improved funding.
While making comparison of the present Dapo Abiodun APC-led administration and the PDP’s achievements, particularly in grassroots development, he stressed his party’s commitment to peaceful and lawful means of achieving power, rejecting violence and voter suppression.
He said that the party is determined and committed to non-violent means of achieving political goals.
Adeutu further called for the protection of voters and emphasised the need for a free and fair election.
He warned about the consequences of poor leadership, including economic decline, mismanagement of resources leading to economic instability, as well as unemployment, among other issues.
The party also inaugurated a 55-member campaign committee to ensure the success of the bye-election.
It is worth recalling that the former member of the House of Representatives for Remo federal constituency, Adewunmi Onanuga, died seven months ago in London after a brief illness.
