Oborevwori reaffirms commitment to awarding more projects to Julius Berger

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to awarding more infrastructure projects to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc as part of efforts to promote job creation and accelerate development across the state.

The governor said his administration would continue to leverage strategic partnerships with reputable construction firms to expand employment opportunities for youths and improve infrastructure delivery.

Oborevwori made the remarks on Monday while addressing workers at a Julius Berger project site in Osubi, located in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to him, unemployment and economic hardship remain pressing challenges confronting many Nigerians, particularly young people, making it necessary for governments to deliberately invest in projects capable of stimulating economic activities and improving livelihoods.

He noted that many youths are becoming discouraged due to limited opportunities, stressing that his administration remains focused on creating jobs, empowering residents, and ensuring that development reaches communities across the state.

The governor commended workers and contractors handling various projects for their commitment and contributions to development, adding that genuine efforts aimed at improving communities deserve support from all stakeholders.

Oborevwori also assured that his administration would sustain its partnership with Julius Berger in executing critical infrastructure projects in Warri, Effurun, and other parts of the state.

He disclosed that the reconstruction of the Effurun Roundabout to Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) axis had already been awarded to the construction giant as part of plans to modernise infrastructure within the Warri/Effurun metropolis.

The governor further praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing economic reforms which, according to him, have increased revenue accruing to state governments and enhanced their capacity to execute projects and pay salaries promptly.

Speaking on ongoing infrastructure development, Oborevwori revealed that the Trans Warri–Ode Itsekiri Roads and Bridges project would be inaugurated after the completion of the Ubeji–Ifie Road.

He maintained that his administration remains committed to delivering critical infrastructure, including roads and bridges, across the state, noting that the projects would have lasting economic and social benefits for residents upon completion.

The governor also appreciated workers and residents for supporting the state government’s development agenda and assured that his administration would continue to prioritise projects and programmes that directly impact the welfare of the people.

He further prayed for the safety of workers, residents, and road users, expressing optimism that the ongoing projects would stand as enduring symbols of growth and development in Delta State.
