Director-General National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye said “the use of Methyl Bromide as fumigant is banned and remains banned in Nigeria.”

Mojisola further stated that this ban is due to the adverse effects of methyl bromide on the human lungs after long term inhalation and further depletion of the ozone layer.
