Multichoice Nigeria, the operator of DSTV, has rebuffed the court order stopping it from increasing its subscription fees by going ahead to enforce the new price at all of its outlets.

Most outlets in Lagos and other states of the country have commenced the fees hike under the guise of purchasing a DSTV bouquet with detailed information on front desks with information about both the old and new prices.

The bouquet which used to sell for N1,500 (for the cheapest package) now sells for N1,800.

Some of the outlets denied knowledge of court order restraining DSTV from any hike or to go-ahead to revert to the old price.”

In March, DSTV announced its intention to increase its tariff by 20 per cent but was ordered by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos to halt implementation of the increase pending determination of a suit filed before it.
