By Sunday Oguntuyi, Osogbo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday emerged victorious in the presidential primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Osun State, polling 100,880 votes to defeat his co-contender, Mr. Stanley Osayamen Osifor, who recorded zero vote.

The result of the exercise was announced at the His Grace Event Centre, Osogbo, by the Osun State Returning Officer for the APC Presidential Primary Election and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Declaring the result, Oyetola said all the accredited party members who participated in the primary voted overwhelmingly for Tinubu across the 30 local government areas of the state.

According to him, out of the 109,806 digitally registered members of the APC in Osun State, 100,880 accredited members participated in the exercise and all cast their votes for the President.

“By the powers vested in me as the Osun State Coordinator and Returning Officer for Osun State Presidential Primary Election, I hereby declare His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the winner of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Primary Election 2026 in Osun State having polled 100,880 votes to defeat Mr. Stanley Osayamen Osifor, the co-contender in the primary,” Oyetola declared.

He commended party loyalists for what he described as their steadfastness and commitment to the APC, noting that the peaceful conduct of the exercise reflected the democratic ideals of the party.

“Today’s exercise has once again demonstrated that the All Progressives Congress remains a party firmly rooted in democratic values, internal cohesion, transparency and progressive governance,” he said.

Oyetola added that the orderly conduct witnessed across the 30 local government areas of the state, including the Ife-East Area Office, underscored the unity and strength of the party in Osun.

“This impressive turnout is not only historic but also a resounding affirmation of the confidence reposed by members of our party in the leadership, vision and Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

“Your turnout today further reflects the deep trust and abiding belief of our members in the direction of our great party and in the transformative leadership currently being provided at the national level,” he stated.

Earlier in his remarks, the APC governorship candidate for the forthcoming Osun governorship election, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and hitch-free conduct of the primary election.

Oyebamiji lauded party leaders and members for turning out massively for the exercise, describing Tinubu’s victory as a reflection of the confidence of APC members in the President’s leadership.
