CSCS launches custodian portal to boost efficiency, digital access

Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS), Nigeria’s leading capital market infrastructure, has launched its Custodian Portal, a user-friendly digital platform designed to enhance operational efficiency and provide secure, real-time access for custodians.
The portal offers powerful tools for portfolio and trade management, document tracking, share transfers, client symbol searches, and instant data access. It operates on a flexible subscription model, with payment options through GTPay and Paystack.
“Digital transformation remains at the core of our strategy to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of Nigeria’s capital market services. The Custodian Portal is a significant leap in that direction,” said Haruna Jalo-Waziri, MD/CEO of CSCS Plc. “We are excited about the value this innovation brings to our stakeholders, and we will continue to evolve the platform in line with user needs and industry trends.”
Key features include portfolio viewing and downloads (PDF or Excel), stock movement tracking across date ranges, inbox messaging, request tracking, and robust user management tools for role assignment and status updates.
Tobe Nnadozie, Divisional Head of Business Technology and Digital Innovation at CSCS, noted, “The Custodian Portal aligns with CSCS’s drive to automate the market. It is part of an omnichannel platform, including API services, and integrates with market-wide workflows to ensure secure communication and approvals across all stakeholders. The platform is safeguarded with advanced cybersecurity solutions and our SOC.”
The Custodian Portal underscores CSCS’s commitment to leveraging technology to streamline back-office functions and build a more agile, data-driven capital market. All custodians in Nigeria’s capital market have been onboarded, marking a key milestone in CSCS’s push for digital adoption and standardized processes.
