Biodun Adedipe to headline Business Hallmark’s policy dialogue on impact of Nigeria’s economic reforms

Business Hallmark Newspaper has announced plans to convene a high-level policy dialogue to assess the impact of Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms and examine whether the measures are beginning to yield tangible benefits for citizens and businesses.
The virtual event, scheduled for June 24, 2026, will bring together leading economists, business executives and policy experts to discuss the country’s economic trajectory nearly three years into the reform programme of the current administration.
The dialogue, themed “Nigeria Midway Through Reform: Are We Seeing Progress or Just Enduring Pain?”, will focus on the effectiveness of key policy measures, their impact on economic growth and living standards, and the prospects for sustainable recovery.
According to the organisers, the session is intended to provide a platform for informed discussions on the gains and challenges associated with ongoing reforms, as well as the outlook for Africa’s largest economy.
The event will feature renowned economist Professor. Biodun Adedipe as the lead speaker. He is expected to provide insights into the current state of the economy and assess the progress made since the introduction of major fiscal and monetary reforms.
The discussion will be moderated by financial analyst and public policy commentator, Teslim Shitta-Bey.
Other panelists expected at the event include economist Dr. Boniface Chizea, capital market operator David Adonri and financial sector expert Emma Nwosu, who will offer perspectives on the impact of reforms on businesses, investors and households.
The organisers said participants would examine critical questions surrounding the reform agenda, including whether current policies are delivering measurable economic gains or whether Nigerians are still bearing the costs without corresponding benefits.
The forum is also expected to explore strategies for deepening economic reforms while mitigating their social and economic consequences.
Business Hallmark noted that the dialogue aligns with its commitment to promoting informed conversations on business, governance, public policy and national development.
The event will be held virtually via Zoom and is open to policymakers, business leaders, academics, investors and members of the public interested in Nigeria’s economic future.
