Bayern overcome Madrid in seven-goal thriller, Arsenal edge Porto

Bayern Munich delivered a dramatic statement of intent in the UEFA Champions League, edging past Real Madrid in a thrilling 4–3 encounter to secure their place in the semi-finals.
The contest unfolded at a frenetic pace, with Arda Güler producing a sensational first-half brace to put the visitors in control. However, the momentum shifted dramatically late on when Eduardo Camavinga received a costly red card in the 86th minute, leaving Madrid vulnerable at a critical juncture.
Bayern seized the advantage immediately. Luis Díaz struck from distance to level proceedings before Michael Olise calmly converted a stoppage-time assist from Harry Kane, completing a remarkable comeback and sealing progression for the German giants. The result marks a significant setback for Los Blancos, whose European campaign ends in heartbreak.
Meanwhile, in North London, Arsenal booked their place in the semi-finals following a disciplined goalless draw against Sporting CP at the Emirates Stadium.
Holding a narrow first-leg advantage, Arsenal controlled much of the tempo and created several opportunities, but wasteful finishing—most notably from Eberechi Eze—kept the tie finely balanced. Sporting CP’s resolute defensive display ensured tension lingered until the final whistle.
In the end, the stalemate proved sufficient for the Gunners, who advanced with a 1–0 aggregate victory. Sporting CP exit the competition with pride after a resilient showing in London.
Attention now turns to the semi-finals, where Bayern Munich will face Paris Saint-Germain, while Atlético Madrid are set to take on Arsenal in what promises to be two captivating encounters.
For Arsenal and Atletico, the first leg will take place at Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on Wednesday, April 29, before Arsenal host Diego Simeone’s side at Emirates Stadium six days later on Tuesday,
Bayern on the other hand will face PSG in Paris on Tuesday April 28 for the first leg of the other semi final, while the second leg will be on Wednesday, May 6 in Germany.
