Truecaller surpasses 500 million users globally

Truecaller, a global platform focused on safe and trusted communication, has announced that it has surpassed 500 million users worldwide, marking a significant milestone in its growth and its mission to improve trust in digital communication.

The company disclosed the development in a statement released on March 31, 2026, noting that the platform continues to experience strong global adoption as demand for protection against spam, scam and unwanted communication increases.

According to the company, more than 50 million new users joined the platform in 2025, while its user base outside India has exceeded 150 million. Truecaller also reported that it crossed four million paying subscribers earlier in the year, strengthening one of its major revenue streams.

Chief Executive Officer of Truecaller, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, described the milestone as a reflection of the growing need for trusted communication tools.

He said the increase in users highlights the rising challenges associated with spam and fraudulent calls, adding that the company remains committed to improving its technology to better protect users.

“Reaching 500 million users shows the scale of the need and the trust people place in Truecaller to help make communication safer,” Jhunjhunwala said, noting that the company is now targeting one billion users globally as its next major milestone.

Truecaller stated that the platform has evolved beyond its original caller identification service to become a broader digital utility that helps users verify identities, avoid fraud and make informed decisions about incoming calls and messages.

With more than half a billion people using the service monthly, the company said the platform now plays a significant role in supporting safer communication within the global phone ecosystem.

Despite its large user base, Truecaller said it operates with a relatively lean workforce of about 470 employees managing and developing the platform globally.
