Speaker House of Reps: Gbajabiamila wins APC primaries

Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila of Lagos Central Constituency and also the Minority Leader of the 7th House of Representatives, has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the House’s speakership.

In a mock primaries conducted by the leadership of the party in Abuja on Saturday, Gbajabiamila polled 154 votes.

However a co-contestant Yakubu Dogara and his supporters staged a walk out, describing the scenario as an ambush as the party did not tell the candidates or advertised that they were going to conduct the primaries.

Dogara polled 3 votes.
