Osoba, Ladoja, ex-CJN Ariwoola, Bayo Lawal, to launch 'REPORTER' in Ibadan 

The Press Centre, Iyaganku, in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, will be agog on Thursday, February, 6 2025 when a new book, the REPORTER, will be officially launched.

Expected at the event are Chief Olusegun Osoba, former Governor of Ogun State and Chieftain  of the All Progressive Congress (APC); Oba Senator Adewolu Rashidi Ladoja, also former governor of Oyo State; Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal; former Chief Justice of Nigeia (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, among others.

The ‘REPORTER ‘ is a book for  practicing journalists and students of journalism  written by a veteran journalist and former features  Editor of the Nigerian Tribune, Alhaji Sikiru Bolaji Kareem.

The author  who was a commissioner for Works and later Health, during the era of the late governor Kolapo Ishola in Oyo State, is presently the Coordinator Ibadan  Oyo State, Campus of the  International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.

The former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo  Olusegun  Osoba and retired Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tajudeen Olukayode  Ariwoola  are Special Guests of Honours at the book launch.

Royal Fathers of the Day are Oba Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Sefiu Oyebola , Adeyeri 111, ( Ajirotutu 1, while Barrister Hammed Raji (SAN) and the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal will be Chairman of the Day and father of the Day respectively.

Oyo State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Alhaji Ademola Babalola will be the Chief Host.

Speaking on the book, the author, Alhaji Kareem said the ‘REPORTER’ is a valuable book for  students and Lecturers of Journalism, Mass Communication and  Media Communications in the Universities, Polytechnics and Institutes of Journalism and researchers .

He said it will also be a guide for  practising journalists.

Alhaji Kareem said the unique selling point of the book is that it contains practical experiences by veterans  likes of Chief Osoba, late Peter Ajayi, Mr Felix Adenaike, the  author and others at reportorial duties in various media houses across the country and all over the world.

The  book  also  teaches the nitty-gritty of news writing and reporting, especially for new entrants.
