Tola Adeniyi to launch autobiography in Lagos

Renowned columnist, author and former Managing Director of the Daily Times of Nigeria, High Chief Tola Adeniyi (Jagun Oodua), will on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, formally present his autobiography titled Tola Adeniyi: Chapters of Destiny in Lagos.
The book launch, which forms part of activities marking his birthday celebration, is scheduled to hold at NECA House, Plot A2, Hakeem Balogun Street, Central Business District, Alausa, Ikeja, by 11 a.m.
Adeniyi, a respected voice in Nigerian journalism and public discourse for decades, described the autobiography as a personal legacy and a reflective account of his life journey, centred on what he calls the “trinity of destiny, fate and character.”
According to him, the book has already been adjudged a collector’s item and is intended to serve as an inspirational guide, particularly for young people and others who may draw lessons from the challenges and experiences that shaped his life and career.
In a special invitation to guests, Adeniyi said he looked forward to welcoming friends, associates and admirers to the public presentation of the book, urging them to be active participants at the unveiling.
He noted that the autobiography represents his “landmark bequest to humanity,” offering insight into the travails, triumphs and defining moments of his journey through life and journalism.
The event is expected to attract prominent figures from the media, academia, traditional institutions and other sectors, reflecting Adeniyi’s enduring influence and relationships built over decades of professional and community service.
Adeniyi, a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (FNGE), is widely celebrated for his contributions to journalism, literature and socio-cultural advocacy in Nigeria.
