Ogun nurses commend Gov. Abiodun for new minimum wage, health workers salary structure
Nurses under the employment of the Ogun State Government have expressed their gratitude and as well commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for the payment of new minimum wage and the implementation of 25 percent Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) adjustment.
The Director of Nursing Services, Ogun State Hospitals Management Board, Mr. Abiodun Olakanmi on behalf of the Nurses applauded the Governor, while speaking at the 2024 End of the Year Party and Interactive Session organised by the Abeokuta Health Zone, Nursing Department Continuing Education and Social Welfare Unit, held at the College of Nursing Hall, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.
He explained, “Our nurses salary has appreciated the payment of the new minimum wage and CONHESS adjustment, bridging the wide gap between their salaries and that of nurses at the federal level”, Mr. Olakanmi said, promising improved service delivery on the part of the nurses.
In her remarks, the Ogun State Chairman of the National Association of Nurses and Midwives, Mrs. Adejoke Bello, appreciated members for their professionalism, advising them to take good care of themselves, as care givers oftentimes, get overwhelmed caring for others.
Speaking on the new Consolidated payment Structure, Deputy Director, Department of Nursing Services, Mrs. Oluremi Mosuro appreciated Governor Abiodun for the consideration given to nurses, encouraging officers not to relent in their service to humanity, saying, to whom much is given, much is expected.
Highlights of the event was the launch of a book titled “Climbing Nursing Career Ladder – A Guide to Efficient Nursing Practice”.
