NGX Group, CSCS, WIMBIZ to Ring the Bell for Gender Equality on International Women’s Day

NGX deepens financial literacy with digital retail engagement initiative

The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), in partnership with the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) and Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), will mark International Women’s Day 2026 by hosting a special Ring the Bell for Gender Equality ceremony on March 10 at NGX Group House, Lagos.

The event will feature the Closing Gong Ceremony, a global initiative designed to highlight the role of capital markets in promoting gender equality and advancing women’s participation in the economy.

This year’s ceremony, themed “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” is being held in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), UN Women, the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the UN Global Compact, and the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (SSEI).

Dignitaries expected to attend include Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Chioma Uzodimma, First Lady of Imo State; Frana Chukwuogor, Executive Commissioner, Legal & Enforcement at SEC; award-winning actor and entrepreneur Funke Akindele; Ojinnika Olaghere, Director, NGX Group; and Fatima Wali-Abdulrahman, NGX Group, alongside board members, regulators, capital market stakeholders, and industry leaders.

Through the ceremony, NGX Group will join stock exchanges around the world in ringing the NGX Gong to emphasize the importance of inclusive leadership, equal opportunities, and stronger accountability in fostering gender equality across markets.
