NGX Group Advances ESG Commitment With World Environment Day Cleanup Exercise

The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) has reiterated its commitment to environmental sustainability through a community cleanup exercise held at Marina, Lagos, as part of activities marking World Environment Day 2026.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Recyclers Association of Nigeria (RAN), with employee volunteers from NGX Group and representatives of the partner organisations participating in the exercise.

The cleanup aimed to promote responsible waste management, encourage proper disposal practices, and raise environmental awareness among members of the community. It also provided NGX Group staff with an opportunity to contribute to environmental protection and community development efforts.

The exercise is part of the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework, particularly its Environmental Pillar, which focuses on advancing sustainable practices through recycling, advocacy, and other initiatives designed to support environmental responsibility.

Speaking on the exercise, Clifford Akpolo, Head, Group Communications and Partnerships, NGX Group, said sustainability remains central to the organisation’s vision of creating lasting value.

Akpolo added that the partnership with LAWMA and RAN demonstrates the importance of collaboration between private organisations, public agencies, and communities in tackling environmental challenges.

He noted that stronger partnerships are essential for improving waste management systems, promoting recycling, and building greater awareness around sustainable practices.
