NACOMYO urges Muslims to uphold Ramadan lessons

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation (NACOMYO) on Sunday called on Muslim faithful to live with the lessons of Ramadan.
Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde, the National President of the organisation, gave the admonition in an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta.
Akintunde urged them to abide with the teachings on peace, generosity, genuine concern and care for one another, honesty and above all, sacrifice.
“I implore my fellow brothers in Islam to adhere strictly to all that they had learnt during Ramadan and continue in that direction.
“When we forsake sins and walk on the path of righteousness not just during the fasting but in our day to day life, our state and nation will be better for it.
“Most of my Muslim brothers normally abstain from sins during the Ramadan but after the fasting period they return to their old ways which should not be.
“If we can continue and abide by the lessons of Ramadan, the country will overcome the evils of immorality, corruption and terrorism,” he said.
He urged Muslims to continue to pray for the peace and unity of the country as well as pray for God’s guidance for our leaders, so that they would do the right things in the efforts to move the country forward.
