Loan defaults to be settled with deposits from other banks – CBN 

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and commercial banks in the country have agreed that loan defaults will be settled using deposits made by defaulter in other banks.

Aishah Ahmad, the apex bank’s Deputy Governor, financial services system who disclosed this while addressing journalists after the Bankers Committee meeting on Monday, said the directive is to encourage banks to increase lending.
