JUST IN: Appeal Court restores LP’s Okolie as winner of Delta reps seat, sacks Elumelu
The Court of Appeal in Abuja affirmed the victory of Labour Party’s Ngozi Okolie, lawmaker representing Aniocha and Oshimili federal constituency of Delta State in the February 25, 2023 National Assembly election.
The higher court set aside the judgment of the national and state houses of assembly election tribunal in Asaba, which had declared Ndudi Elumelu, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as winner of the election.
In a judgment on Thursday, the appellate court affirmed Okolie as the duly elected lawmaker.
