IMBIL Telecom signs partnership with Airtel Nigeria, onboards five MVNOs

By Popoola Jamiu, Abeokuta
IMBIL Telecom Solutions Ltd, a Mobile Virtual Network Enabler/Aggregator (MVNE/A) in Nigeria, says it has concluded a commercial partnership agreement with Airtel Nigeria aimed at expanding mobile virtual network operations in the country.
In a statement, the company said the agreement has supported the onboarding of five Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), with additional operators currently undergoing integration ahead of planned market entry in the coming months.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IMBIL Telecom, Akeem Ogunkoya, described the development as part of efforts to lower entry barriers for new telecom operators by providing access to shared infrastructure and backend systems. He said the company’s platform offers services such as core network access, billing, provisioning, regulatory compliance support, and other operational tools intended to support MVNO operations.
Ogunkoya added that the partnership with Airtel Nigeria is expected to provide infrastructure support for MVNOs to operate and scale within the Nigerian telecommunications market.
He also referenced the role of the Nigerian Communications Commission, stating that regulatory policies have helped support the introduction and expansion of MVNO services in the country.
According to IMBIL Telecom, the MVNE/A model is designed to allow new telecom entrants to focus on customer acquisition and service development while relying on established network infrastructure for technical operations.
The company said it expects more MVNOs to launch services in the coming months as part of ongoing industry expansion efforts.
