Heirs Holdings portfolio companies gain global recognition for business performance

Three companies in the Heirs Holdings portfolio have received international recognition for their performance and innovation across key sectors, reinforcing the investment firm’s strategy of building leading businesses across Africa.

In a statement released on Thursday, Heirs Holdings said Transcorp Group, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and Redtech were recognised in separate global and continental business rankings for 2026.

According to the company, Transcorp Group and AEDC were listed among The Africa Report’s 2026 500 Business Champions, an annual ranking of the continent’s top-performing companies. The recognition highlights their operational resilience, sustained business performance and contributions to Africa’s economic growth.

Technology firm Redtech also secured a place in the Payments category of CNBC and Statista’s 2026 World’s Top Fintech Companies ranking.

Heirs Holdings said Redtech emerged as one of only 11 African companies included in the global list of the world’s top 500 fintech firms, in recognition of its role in expanding digital payment solutions and strengthening financial infrastructure across the continent.

The investment company noted that the latest accolades add to earlier recognitions earned by other businesses within its portfolio.

Earlier this year, Heirs Life Assurance and Heirs General Insurance, both members of the Heirs Insurance Group, alongside Redtech, were named among the Financial Times’ 2026 Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies.

According to the company, the recognitions reflect the strength of its diversified investment portfolio and its commitment to creating long-term value through operational excellence and strategic investments.

Heirs Holdings, a pan-African investment company founded by businessman Tony O. Elumelu, has investments spanning the power, energy, banking, insurance, financial services, technology, hospitality, real estate and healthcare sectors across 24 countries.
