Ekiti gov poll: Gov. Oyebanji floors Segun Oni at election tribunal
The Ekiti Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has upheld Biodun Oyebanji’s victory at the governorship election held in June 2022.
In the judgment read by the Chairman, Justice Wilfred Kpochi and a member of the panel, Justice Sa’ad Zadawa, the tribunal resolved all issues in contention against Oni and his party, Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Oyebanji, former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), was declared the winner of the election after winning 15 of the 16 LGAs in the state.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate secured 187,057 votes, defeating Oni who polled 82,211 votes, and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 67,457 votes.
