Easter: Prophet Owoseni urges Christians to emulate Christ, remain hopeful, trust in God

Christians across the country have been urged to celebrate Easter with renewed hope and faith, with the assurance that evil will never prevail because the final authority belongs to God.
The Spiritual Head of African Jerusalem Christian Ministry, Solution City, Prophet Gideon Owoseni, gave the charge in his Easter message to members of the church and Nigerians at large.
In the message, Prophet Owoseni encouraged believers not to be discouraged by the prevailing socio-political and economic challenges in the country, but to remain steadfast in their faith in God.
According to him, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a reminder that no obstacle, conspiracy or challenge can prevent God’s plans from being fulfilled in the lives of His people.
He said that just as the power of death, the conspiracy of the Jews, and the guards at the tomb could not stop the resurrection of Jesus Christ, nothing can stop the divine purpose of God in the lives of believers.
The cleric also urged leaders in the country to work together in fairness, love and unity, stressing that the current challenges facing society require collective efforts and a shared commitment to the common good.
“We need to encourage and support one another and hold onto Jesus Christ, knowing that we shall be raised with Him,” he said.
Prophet Owoseni further called on Christians and Nigerians generally to live purposeful lives by committing themselves to the tasks and responsibilities for which God created them.
Reflecting on the significance of Easter, he noted that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ demonstrate that sacrifice and perseverance are integral parts of the Christian journey.
According to him, believers must be prepared for trials and sacrifices in their service to God and humanity, adding that the Christian faith is not devoid of suffering.
The cleric also reminded Christians of God’s promise never to forsake His people, urging them to remain committed to the truth of God’s word.
“Jesus is risen from the dead, He is alive forevermore and He rules over all,” he said.
Prophet Owoseni emphasized that through His resurrection, Jesus Christ defeated death and the power of sin, assuring believers that nothing can hinder the fulfilment of God’s purpose in their lives.
He warned that fear and anxiety about material needs such as food, clothing and other necessities could become tools used to weaken faith, but urged believers to remain joyful and confident in the victory of Christ.
The cleric also cautioned against individuals who exploit religious sentiments for political purposes, advising politicians to act with integrity and focus on giving back to society rather than pursuing personal gain.
He concluded by encouraging Christians to seek a deeper relationship with the risen Christ, noting that Easter presents an opportunity for believers to experience a renewed spiritual encounter.
“Our Lord Jesus Christ practiced both religion and culture, but what He came for was salvation. Therefore, we have perfect victory because Jesus has risen from the dead,” Prophet Owoseni stated.
