Yusuf Mohammed | Trouble may be brewing over the plan to make Dr. Ogbonaya Onu the next Secretary to the Government of the Federation as APC caucus members divided on the decision.

Hallmark News gathered that Onu would have been announced alongside Mr. Femi Adesina (Special Adviser on Media and Publicity) and Mallam Garba Shehu (Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity) on Sunday but the division along party line killed the idea for now.

According to a reliable source, the name of Dr. Ogbonaya Onu is been penciled down as the next Secretary to the Government of the Federation but the announcement is being delayed due to some disagreement among the party members who thought someone else should occupy the position.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has named the President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mr. Femi Adesina as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity. He also named the Director, Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Mallam Garba Shehu, as Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.

In a statement made available to journalists by Shehu, the President also appointed Mallam Lawal Kazaure as the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP).

Mr. Adesina is the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Sun newspapers while Shehu was the President of the NGE 16 years ago.

However, Hallmark News gathered that a list of appointees to work with the president would soon be made public after ratification by the inner caucus of the All Progressive Congress, who were of the opinion that the appointment should reflect national character.
