Adeleke urges unity, religious harmony as Osun Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the state on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, urging them to uphold the virtues of faith, unity and compassion.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor commended Muslims for their devotion and discipline during the fasting period, describing Ramadan as a time that reflects not only abstinence but also commitment to social justice, charity and community service.
Adeleke assured the Muslim community of his administration’s continued support, pledging to protect their rights, strengthen their institutions and ensure inclusive participation in governance and development initiatives.
“Osun under my leadership will remain a state where religious harmony is preserved and no group feels marginalised. Government policies will continue to reflect equity, sensitivity and respect for all faiths,” he said.
The governor noted that the lessons of Ramadan are vital to sustaining peace and progress in the state, urging adherents to carry forward the values of love, tolerance and selflessness beyond the fasting period.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance, promising to deepen grassroots engagement and expand opportunities for citizens through improved welfare, infrastructure and economic development.
Adeleke further called on Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to pray for peace and stability in Osun, particularly at the local government level, while cautioning against actions that could undermine unity.
He encouraged residents to celebrate peacefully, support one another and extend acts of kindness to the less privileged.
“As we mark this sacred festival, I assure our Muslim brothers and sisters that this government stands with you, listens to you, and remains committed to serving your interests,” the governor added.
