DPR seals petrol stations for selling above N87

The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has sealed up 12 petrol stations for dispensing above official price of N87.
The DPR, in a statement by Mohammed Usman, Zonal Operations Controller, Abuja, disclosed that the affected petrol stations were engaged in profiteering and selling above government approved price.
He noted that the sealing up of the 12 filling stations in Abuja and environs has brought to 34, the number of filling stations sealed across the country over the last couple of days.
Usman explained that the decision to seal the petrol stations was arrived at after a surveillance of the stations were carried out by four teams covering Abuja and its environs. According to him, a total of forty 46 filling stations were visited and the exercise indicated availability of PMS in the stations visited with some queues observed.At the end of the exercise, he said the 12 filling stations were found wanting and were sealed.
He said the affected stations
are to remain sealed for at least one month as well as forfeiting their bridging claims for the products in question.
The stations affected, according to him are: Harry Pet filling station in Gwagwalada which was sealed for selling Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, for N110 per litre, while Drison Oil filling station at Giri, was sealed for selling PMS at N100.Ohinoyi Oil, in Kwali was sealed for under dispensing with -3770mls; Gausiya filling station at Giri have one pump sealed for under-dispensing with-740mls; Adelhi Ltd filling station at Masaka sealed for selling PMS at N105, while Hariz Petroleum at Masaka was sealed for selling PMS at N110.
