JAMB releases 1,897,692 UTME results for second, third days of 2026 examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Friday, 17 April, and Saturday, 18 April 2026.

According to a statement by the Board, a total of 1,264,940 results from the two examination days are now available for candidates to access.

Candidates were advised to check their results by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration.

The Board also recalled that it had earlier released 632,752 results of candidates who wrote the examination on Thursday, 16 April 2026. This brings the total number of results released so far to 1,897,692.

Meanwhile, monitoring the ongoing examination, the Chief External Examiner (CEE) for Lagos State, Prof. Dosumu Simeon, and his Cross River State counterpart, Prof. Offiong Effanga Offiong, commended JAMB for what they described as a well-organised and credible exercise.

Prof. Simeon, who spoke during an inspection of several Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in Lagos, said the centres visited were orderly, well-coordinated, and situated in conducive environments.

He noted the absence of technical disruptions such as system failures or generator breakdowns, describing the conduct of the examination as impressive.

The scholar, whose research interests include educational foundations, counselling psychology, globalisation in education, and school violence, praised JAMB’s organisational capacity in delivering a smooth examination process.

Similarly, Prof. Offiong Effanga Offiong, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar and CEE for Cross River State, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the UTME in his area of supervision.

He said the examination process was seamless and well-coordinated, commending the Registrar and management team for maintaining high professional standards.

“From what we have observed, the process has been seamless and well-coordinated. The Board has demonstrated commendable efficiency in ensuring that candidates sit the examination under conducive conditions,” he stated.

Prof. Offiong also advised candidates to remain focused and avoid all forms of malpractice, stressing that integrity is essential to academic success.

“Candidates must understand that the examination is a test of both knowledge and character. They should shun malpractice and concentrate on giving their best within the rules,” he added.

The monitoring exercise is part of JAMB’s quality assurance framework aimed at ensuring compliance with operational standards and maintaining the credibility of the UTME nationwide.
