Market sustains rally as investors gain N410bn

The Nigerian Exchange market (NGX) sustained rally on Wednesday as investor confidence remained firmly anchored on equities and market sentiment remained positive.

The All Share Index advanced by 0.40% to close at 160,591.76 points from the previous close of 159,951.08 points.

Investors gained N410 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.40% to close at N102.685 trillion from the previous close of N102.275 trillion.

An aggregate of 1.4 billion units of shares were traded in 48,789 deals, valued at N20 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 33 equities appreciated in their share prices against 40 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

UNIONDICON, Okomu Oil and SEPLAT led other gainers with 10.00% growth each, closing at N8.80, N1,204.50 and N6,171.00 from the previous close of N8.00, N1,095 and N5,610.00 respectively.

MCNICHOLS, ETERNA OIL and MULTIVERSE among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.97%, 9.93% and 9.90%.

Percentage Losers

CUDBURY led other price decliners as they shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N63.00 from N70.00.

AUSTINLAZ and ALEX among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.93% and 9.91% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Linkage Assurance traded about 55 million units of its shares in 131 deals, valued at N99 million.

ACCESSCORP traded 30 million units of its shares in 2,176 deals, valued at N687.7 million.

ELLAHLAKE traded about 26 million units of its shares in 1,774 deals, valued at N442.6 million.
